Spanish Embassies in Colombia
There are many drawcards attracting both Colombian and global citizens to Spain. At present, a Colombian citizen is required only to have a valid passport for tourist entry into Spain for a period not exceeding 90 days. Citizens are encouraged to view the respective visa pathways if considering longer-term stays for reasons such as work, study, and residence.
In the coming years, access to Spain and other countries in the Schengen zone will change. The European Union monitors the security of visitors traveling to any of the Schengen zone countries via their European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS).
In 2021, the European Union will roll out a new ETIAS visa waiver application process in an effort to protect and strengthen the external borders of the Schengen Zone. Colombia joins 59 other countries having access to the new ETIAS waiver scheme that citizens will need to complete before entering Spain or any other participating country in the zone. The application will be available online and include simple questions about identity, required documentation and intended travel plans.
Travelers are encouraged to stay up to date with changes and plan journeys to Spain in advance.
