Spanish embassies in Paraguay
Citizens from Paraguay at this moment only need their passports to enter Spain for a short stay of up to 90 days. Though, it they would like to live, work or study in Spain, they will need to apply for a visa from the Spanish consulate or embassy. Furthermore, when the ETIAS Visa Waiver will be introduced in 2021, Paraguayans (along with citizens from other visa-exempt countries) will also need to complete an application form.
There are more than 560 Spanish consular and diplomatic representations overseas, three of which are situated in Paraguay. There is the embassy based in Asuncion, the capital and biggest city of Paraguay, one vice consulate in Ciudad del Este and another in Villarrica. There are also Spanish representations in three neighboring countries, namely Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil.
All travelers are urged to contact the embassy in Asuncion first if they have a question regarding their passport and/or visa. Their office hours for visa application and collection are from 08:00 till 12:00, but it is best to confirm these opening hours with the embassy directly.
Currently, Paraguay boasts six representations in Spain. There is an embassy based in Madrid and five consulates found in Valencia, Albacete, Malaga, Barcelona and Elche.
